Pinoy basketball fans shall once again be all locked in and ready to witness another valiant campaign from our very own Gilas Pilipinas Men’s Basketball team as they are all set to defend their Southeast Asian Games title here in Manila.

The Philippines has long dominated the men’s division, winning the gold medal in the past 12 editions of this biennial sports meet. With our home crowd expected to feverishly cheer them on, the team would want nothing less than to continue their regional supremacy of the sport.

Gilas will be led by national team veterans LA Tenorio, Marcio Lassiter, JunMar Fajardo and Christian Standhardinger. Calling the shots for the squad will be Tim Cone, the multi-titled PBA coach who shall be making a return to the international basketball scene after 21 long years.

Though our team is heavily favored in this tournament, we can expect them to face tough competition from the likes of Indonesia and Thailand.

With the rest of the playing field looking to topple us, we can count on our team to give it their all and make our basketball-crazy nation proud.
