ATM Safe
ATMSafe is a non-life insurance product that replaces lost money withdrawn from the ATM due to theft. Insurance premium is P12.00 and covers up to P50,000 for a period of 30-days from date of premium payment.
Benefits of ATMSafe
- Replacement of Stolen Cash during an ATM robbery
Actual loss up to P50,000.00, maximum of three (3) incidents per year and limited by the daily withdrawable limit, whichever is less:
- 1st incident – 100%
- 2nd incident – 50%
- 3rd incident – 25%
- Mechanical Device or Machine Tampering
Replacement of lost cash incurred from an ATM mechanical device or machine tampering incident. Up to P50,000.00 or actual loss, maximum of one (1) incident per year and limited by the daily withdrawable limit, whichever is less.
- 1st incident – 100%

- 3rd incident – 25%
- Accidental Death Benefit
P112,500.00 coverage in the event of the cardholder’s death from an ATM robbery.
- Hospital Confinement Benefit
P2,250.00 for each day of confinement of the cardholder, exceeding three (3) days up to a maximum of thirty (30) days, in any hospital accredited by the Department of Health. Benefit is retroactive to day 1 of hospitalization.
- Document Replacement Benefit
Actual cost up to P11,250.00 of replacing documents such as national identity cards, e.g. SSS or GSIS card, driver’s license, employee ID, passport, or travel document.
- Identity Theft Restoration
Actual cost up to P112,500.00 in retaining a specialist to assist cardholder to correct false or fraudulent use of his/her identity. Card must be reported as lost or stolen.
- Emergency & Trauma Assistance
Includes emergency phone assistance, medical and legal referrals, and coordination of emergency fund transfer.
- Quick Processing of Claims
Assistance in preparing and filing necessary documents, completing forms, and contacting authorities.
- 24/7 Global Coverage
Covers ATM robbery committed in Philippines and overseas where the Philippine National Bank ATM Card is accepted.
How to Enroll in ATMSafe
- Via Branch OTC: Cardholders may enroll by filling up the ATMSafe Enrollment Form in any PNB Branch
- Via ATM: Cardholders will be given an option to enroll in ATMSafe when doing an ATM withdrawal at selected PNB ATMs.
- What is ATMSAFE?

- How is robbery defined under the ATMSafe coverage?
Robbery is the criminal assault of the cardholder, forced withdrawal, kidnapping with the intent of forcing a cardholder to conduct a transaction, “card trapping” and other mechanical non-violent schemes involving the Automated Teller Machine (ATM).
Therefore, robbery of ATMSafe-covered PNB ATM cardholder or any of its authorized users, while conducting an ATM transaction which results in the loss of cash, personal and immediate injury, fraud or identity theft are covered.
*Loss incidents that take place more than ten (10) minutes after the ATM transaction may be filed and evaluated, depending on the validity of the case or claim.
- Are there other benefits of ATMSafe aside from replacement of cash lost?
Comprehensive benefits:
- Accidental death benefit of P112,500 in the event an ATM cardholder dies as a result of the robbery.
- Hospital confinement of P2,250/day of confinement exceeding 3 days maximum of 30 days.

- Is there an age limit to the persons covered under ATMSafe?
ATMSafe is a feature of a PNB ATM account and the insurance generally covers the money lost and not the individual or accountholder. Hence it will follow the same guidelines and regulations pertaining to an ATM account opening. Minimum age to open an ATM account is 18 years old.
- What do I do when I no longer want to be covered by ATMSafe?
For OTC enrollment, you may disenroll your ATMSafe coverage by submitting a duly signed formal letter of request to disenroll your account to your PNB branch of account. If there are paid premiums and 30-day coverage is not yet over, generally no refund will be granted.
For ATM enrollment, your coverage will expire after the 30-day coverage period has lapsed.
- After a robbery incident, what should I do?

Report the incident by calling the PNB Customer Service hotline 573-8888 (available 24/7) and provide the necessary information.
You will be required to:
- Advise and ask for confirmation to temporarily block the card
- Provide the accountholder’s name
- If possible, provide the ATM card number or account number
- State the date and time, place (ATM location) of robbery
- State the amount of cash lost
You should:
- Safekeep the transaction receipt if it is in their possession.
- Secure a Police Report and Affidavit of Loss of the ATM card.

- How long does it take to process my claim?
Under normal circumstances, it will take approximately 5 banking days to process a claim.
- What if my account does not have enough balance to debit P12.00?
For branch enrolled ATMSafe, debiting of the premium will be postponed for the next month (e.g. June – P12, not collected; July – P24 is up for collection) or until such time the account is funded. Account holder will only be given a maximum of 3 consecutive months of non-premium payment before the maintaining branch can automatically disenroll and discontinue his ATM Safe coverage
For ATM enrollment, account will be checked for sufficient balance to be able to complete the process.
