Staying true to its commitment to being a reliable financial partner of Filipinos, PNB delivers relevant banking solutions to its customers.
In today’s rapidly evolving banking landscape where online services have become increasingly essential, the Philippine National Bank (PNB) has risen to the challenge by introducing the new PNB Digital App. Designed to meet the growing demand for reliable and secure online banking solutions, this app offers an array of features tailored to enhance the banking experience for PNB customers.
Florido P. Casuela, President of PNB, expressed that PNB is honoured to receive this award for a campaign that reinforces the bank’s position in mobile banking. “With a strong focus on elevating client experience, we are embracing innovation to deliver better results. Filipinos everywhere can rely on PNB to continuously provide excellent service through innovation and convenient banking with a strong emphasis on cyber and transaction security.”
One of the standout features of the PNB Digital App is its ease of use. Customers can conveniently register their accounts from the safety and comfort of their homes using their PNB account number, debit card, or credit card information. Once registered, they can securely and conveniently log in via Face ID or Touch ID.
Damasen Paul C. Cid, First Vice President and Digital Innovations Group Head of PNB, emphasised the importance of adapting to changing customer preferences, saying, “Consumer expectations have changed, especially in the ‘new normal.’ At PNB, we work tirelessly in improving our PNB Digital App to address our clients’ evolving need for a reliable and user-friendly online banking solution.”
The app allows users to view their account balance and transaction history, transfer funds to another PNB account via QR code, send money to local banks through InstaPay and PesoNet, pay utility bills, credit card bills, and other partner merchant bills, as well as locate PNB branches both nationwide and overseas. Users can also pay at merchant stores using QR codes and can avail of Cardless Withdrawal in PNB ATMs.
Furthermore, the PNB Digital Key makes payment and transfers more convenient and secure without the need to input passwords and one-time pins (OTPs).
The PNB Digital App can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play, offering clients a superior banking experience with its fresh look, intuitive design, and quick access to frequent banking transactions via a customisable dashboard.
The campaign featured a soft launch with a press announcement, online teaser videos, e-posters, print ads, and billboards.
The official app launch in July 2021, coinciding with PNB’s 105th-anniversary celebration, featured the release of the new PNB Digital App video on PNB’s social media channels, news sites, and online blogs. The video highlighted the app’s features, including bill payment, fund transfer, and QR payment, and encouraged users to download the PNB Digital App from the App Store or Google Play.
In addition to raising awareness, the campaign was complemented by a raffle promo, engaging PNB stakeholders, and promoting the use of the new PNB Digital App. As a result of these efforts, the campaign garnered millions of views, impressions, and engagements on platforms like Facebook and YouTube, earning millions of pesos in total media value.
Furthermore, the launch month witnessed a significant increase in new users enrolling in the PNB Digital App, as well as a notable uptick in usage and revenues, particularly in bill payments and InstaPay transactions.
As a result of all efforts, the Philippine National Bank won the Philippines Digital Experience of the Year – Banking accolade at the Asian Experience Awards 2023. The awards program recognises the ingenious initiatives of creative companies delivering meaningful brand experiences to their stakeholders.
