PNB CEO Wick Veloso meets with Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Nina Hachigian

(May 28, 2019, Los Angeles CA) – Philippine National Bank (PSE: PNB) President and CEO Wick Veloso (in photo, left) meets with Nina Hachigian, Los Angeles Deputy Mayor for International Affairs, during his visit to the city. Veloso is visiting PNB branches in Los Angeles and New York and meeting with bank regulators in the US.

Veloso briefed Deputy Mayor Hachigian about PNB operations in the US and its plans to expand the bank’s footprint in support of building the trade and business corridor between the US and the Philippines.

“As part of our safe, aggressive growth strategy, we are exploring opportunities in the US and I see a number of them — some in areas where PNB was active years ago and others in new areas where the bank had not been traditionally active,” Veloso said.

“We look forward to working more with the Office of International Affairs as we build our business here,” Veloso said. “PNB is looking at how we can further support a stronger Philippine-U.S. business corridor as we continue to work on the bank’s build-up of assets.”

PNB provides a range of banking and financial services to corporate and retail customers through its Los Angeles and New York branches.

Hachigian is the first Deputy Mayor of International Affairs. Her office is tasked to use and expand Los Angeles’ global ties to help bring jobs and economic opportunities to Los Angeles. Prior to this, Hachigian served as the United States Representative to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (“ASEAN”) with the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
