PNB CommuniTree 2023: Together as One for the Environment

19 October 2023 — When it comes to protecting the environment, Philnabankers are every step together.

In celebration of its 107th anniversary, PNB organized a bankwide tree-planting activity called PNB CommuniTree which was participated by Philnabankers from all over the country in July 2023 and ending with a culminating activity with the tree-planting activity of the North Metro Manila Region last September 23, 2023.

A total of 285 employee volunteers planted 1,425 trees in their own backyards and communities, while 52 North Metro Manila Philnabankers rolled up their sleeves to plant 1,200 trees in Brgy. Mamuyao, Tanay, Rizal.

“Tree planting is not just an act of giving back to nature; it is an investment in the sustainable future of our communities. As the Region Head of Philippine National Bank, I am proud to support initiatives such as tree planting, as we recognize the intrinsic link between environmental preservation and economic development. Let us cultivate the seeds of change by planting trees today so that future generations can flourish in a greener and healthier world.” said NMM Region Head Sharon Magpayo.

For the past three years, a total of 5,408 trees have been planted by employees under the yearly PNB CommuniTree Activity. This is a combination of forest and fruit-bearing tree seedlings / saplings in the backyards and communities of Philnabankers and the falcata seedlings planted in Tanay, Rizal.

Planting trees is a simple, cost-effective yet impactful way of protecting the environment for future generations. Employees took the time to do this worthwhile activity and even had fun bonding with one another – some even with their friends and loved ones.

This program is spearheaded by the Corporate Sustainability Unit with support from the 107th Anniversary Committee led by the Marketing Services, Intelligence Analytics and Performance Group.
