How to avail
Just follow these three easy steps:- Book an appointment for video conferencing at PNB Japan Video Conferencing (office365.com) and email a copy of your valid IDs* to openaccounttokyo@pnbtokyo.co.jp or openaccountnagoya@pnbtokyo.co.jp
*Philippine passport, Japan Residence Card and My Number Card/Notification Card - Join the meeting via Microsoft Teams on your scheduled date and time.
- Mail the accomplished account opening documents with initial deposit using PNB’s money envelope to PNB Tokyo or PNB Nagoya branch.

You will be redirected to a page where you can select your preferred date and time.
- Check your email for the video conference invite via Microsoft Teams.
- Upon receipt of the video conference invite, send a copy of your Residence Card (front and back), My Number (front and back), and Passport via email to openacccounttokyo@pnbtokyo.co.jp or openaccountnagoya@pnbtokyo.co.jp
- Please have the following ready before the video conferencing: (1) Residence Card, (2) My Number, (3) Passport, (4) A4 size clean white paper, and (5) black pen.
- The video conference will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
- It will be recorded for the whole duration.
- You will be asked about your personal data for the purpose of KYC.
- You will be requested to affix your signature on the clean white A4 paper.
- Selfie with your ID will be requested during the video conferencing.
- Identification documents – IDs must be original, valid and reflecting current address in Japan. (If not current address, residence certificate with My Number indicated and issued within 3 months is required.)

- Remittance fee – JPY3,000 (JPY4,000 if combo account)
- Mailing fee – JPY610 (JPY520 if passbook or time deposit certificate only)
- Initial Deposit – JPY10,000 (JPY100,000 if time deposit)
After the video conferencing, we will mail the Account Opening kit once you are eligible to open an account. Mail back to PNB Tokyo Branch or PNB Nagoya Sub-branch the accomplished forms together with the copy of required IDs and the initial deposit and processing fee.
How long will it take me to get my ATM, Passbook, Checkbook and/or certificate after opening an account? |
It will take two (2) months.

Deposits in any currencies and of any type are insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) up to a maximum amount of PHP 500,000 per depositor.
