PNB Partners with Tan Yan Kee Foundation and MacroAsia Corp. for Food Distribution Activity
As part of its ongoing efforts to serve the community, Philippine National Bank (PSE: PNB), through the North Metro Luzon Area Office 5 and six Marikina Branches, participated in the food distribution activity of the Tan Yan Kee Foundation and MacroAsia Corporation in five identified barangays in Marikina City last January 12, 2021.
“This activity is PNB’s direct response to meeting the food needs of families in Marikina City. We are grateful to the Tan Yan Kee Foundation and MacroAsia Corporation for partnering with us and for providing these valuable resources to the community,” shares PNB President and CEO Wick Veloso.
A total of 4,000 families who were affected by Typhoon Ulysses in December 2020 received 40,000 food items and 8,000 bottles of mineral water during the food distribution activity led by PNB Marikina branches and Public Affairs Group.
Despite the limited space and manpower, the PNB employees were all happy and proud as they repacked and distributed to the beneficiaries. Proper safety and health protocols such as social distancing and wearing face masks and face shields were observed by the PNB employees and family beneficiaries during the activity. The food distribution finished way ahead of the schedule.
The success of the activity is attributed to the good teamwork of Philippine National Bank, Tan Yan Kee Foundation, MacroAsia Corporation, the Local Barangay Councils, and the Marikina PNP.
