PNB receives award for Corporate Governance
(March 16, 2021) — Philippine National Bank (PSE: PNB) has been recognized as one of the Golden Arrow Awardees by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). The Institute acknowledges publicly-listed and insurance companies that performed well in the 2019 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard Assessment.
“We thank the ICD for recognizing our efforts in upholding sound corporate governance in PNB,” shared PNB Chairman Florencia Tarriela. “We continue to adopt the best corporate governance practices in PNB as all our stakeholders will stand to benefit,” PNB President and CEO Wick Veloso adds.
PNB is a recipient of the three-arrow recognition for getting a score of 100-109 in the 2019 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). The golden upward-pointing arrow symbolizes the continuing efforts of Philippine companies to raise the level of compliance with the ASEAN corporate governance principles. This assessment is supported by a rigorous methodology developed by corporate governance experts across the region to assess the corporate governance standing and performance of publicly listed companies in the six participating ASEAN Member Countries namely: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
